6 Tips for Beautiful Glowing Skin

I have always been in natural skincare and will provide you today with six tips for beautiful glowing skin. If you use one or some of these tips daily, you will be amazed by how your skin will glow and look very healthy.

There are many tips for cleansing your skin naturally; this means you don’t use chemical cleaners from a supermarket, but you can use your handmade products.  Cleaning your skin with gentle, natural, but powerful ingredients will quickly bring you results. I never use chemical products you can buy and have more than two ingredients, especially if they are toxic.

In my blog “Organic Natural Skincare,” I told you why I am not using products with ingredients that penetrate my skin and harm me. 🙂 Would you like to do that?

The tips I give here are additional to your daily skincare regime by including them daily or twice a week, maybe once a month. This is up to you.

This article is an older post I am now updating with more information!

Cleanse Your Skin with Apple Cider Vinegar

This is a fantastic tonic, not only for internal use but also for external cleansing of your skin.

Apple cider vinegar is made from apples in a fermentation process by adding yeast that turns sugar into alcohol. Bacteria turn the alcohol into acetic acid. Its anti-inflammatory power consisting of acetic acid and alpha hydroxy acid makes ACV outstanding for inflamed skin restoring the skin’s ph levels naturally. You can dilute a spoonful in water and drink this daily as an addition. Your stomach acid becomes more naturally stronger, which benefits your digestion.

However, when you have done your skin cleansing, you might want to take a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar and press it softly onto your face skin. It also refreshes your skin, and you will notice that the sour smell will disappear.

Done daily,  your skin will be beautified, resulting in a fantastic glow. But be careful; if you have an inflamed spot that is open, it will give a burning sensation for a moment, so you better dilute the apple cider vinegar with water in that case. Used undiluted will not harm your skin, but it can burn significantly.

If you are suffering from acne, you also need to be careful, especially with open spots. It is always better to balance your hormones first by eating healthy, drinking lots of fresh vegetable juice and green powders, including flaxseed and healthy fats, like omega-3s. When your skin is improving and has no open spots anymore, you can try diluted vinegar for cleansing your skin.

Especially in puberty, it is pretty normal to have hormone disbalances due to becoming an adult. If you try the ACV, dilute it very strongly with pure water and try it first. Apple cider vinegar will not worsen your inflamed skin, but you might experience lousy skin burning.woman with acne skin

Better use skin masks with Bentonite, which cools your skin and has anti-inflammatory properties when suffering from severe acne. You can always use the ACV later when your skin has healed.

If you already want to use ACV, take it internally by putting a spoonful of ACV into a glass of pure water, drinking it every morning, and maybe two more times during the day. So you will balance your alkaloid / acid levels in your body, which is essential to healing from the inside out. Always use organic apple cider vinegar, which is unfiltered and fermented in a natural way. I mentioned above already that AVG is excellent for digestion.

Organic Skin Masks for Beautiful Glowing Skin

There is so much you could do for your skin. A skin mask will cleanse and exfoliate your face and hydrate your skin, and it depends on what your skin needs.

If you have dry skin, you will gently exfoliate and focus more on hydrating your skin. If you have oily skin, your goal will likely be to reduce the oil on your skin. If you have inflamed acne skin, you will cool your skin and reduce the inflammation. Some women have Rosacea, which needs a different approach. If you have normal skin, you would like to keep your glow and hydration.

facial mask with joghurt

There are many recipes you could try out, and I will list some for you.

1. Dry Skin

recipe a)

Two spoonfuls of greek yogurt, 1/2 spoonful organic honey

Optional for the honey. You could crush a piece of cucumber or a piece of apple.

Mix the ingredients, and leave them on your face for at least 15 minutes. Then cleanse your face with water.

Joghurt and honey are cooling and hydrating the skin, whereby honey also has anti-inflammatory components.

recipe b)

Two spoonfuls of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of water( you can always increase the amount to create a soft paste),1/2 spoonful of honey

Mix it, leave it on the skin for at least 15 minutes. Then cleanse your face with water.

Oatmeal will softly exfoliate and hydrate your skin.

2. Oily Skin

recipe:

Two spoonfuls of Bentonite or another kind of clay, juice of a half lemon, water

Mix it till you get a nice paste, leave it on your face for about 15 minutes, then cleanse it with water.

Bentonite has an astringent property; it will balance your skin without dehydrating it, while lemon will recover the ph of your skin. I would use this mask once or twice a week, not more.

Optional you might use 3-5 drops of neem oil with the other ingredients. Neem oil is perfect for inflammation and infections of the skin. This mask is ideal for acne skin, but then leave the lemon, use the neem oil.

Most skin problems result from a wrong lifestyle, wrong food, too little moving, hormone disbalances. It would be best if you adapt to a healthier lifestyle to heal from the inside out.

Bentonite is excellent for acne skin, but please, use it without lemon. You can always use some honey with the Bentonite. Yogurt is also a tremendous cooling factor for acne skin.

Skin Micro-Needling Therapy for Beautiful Glowing Skin

This has been a huge topic and used by quite a lot of women. Many women have spent a fortune to get better skin needling their face. And I really must say it works.

You could easily do this at your home included in your routine.

If you see some photos on the internet, you can see that some therapists are needling till your skin bleeds. They say that the skin’s repair mechanism will create new cells by removing the old dead cells through the perforation. This is the process of micro-needling therapy, but I wouldn’t want to needle my skin till it bleeds.

If you do it at your home, you need proper hygiene. Otherwise, you might infect your skin with bacteria.

I have bought myself two microneedle rollers that have different lengths of needles. Dermaroller is an excellent brand, but others are also fine.

It is an easy activity if it is done in the proper manner. Using the roller with 5 mm needles for the skin’s deeper perforation has given me excellent results. You don’t need to use it very often; once a month or within six weeks is enough.

The skin starts to repair the slight perforation while developing new skin resulting in glowing, healthy, beautiful skin. Applying hyaluronic serum after needling cools and plumps the skin, and I use an organic Aloe Vera gel which cools the skin.

If you have acne, don’t use this technic. You might get your face infected and even more inflamed. Go and see a professional first!

I have another micro-needling roller with needles that have a length of 2mm for daily use. By perforating the skin superficially,  your skincare will better penetrate the skin. It is perfect for the morning or evening. You could always use a hyaluronic or a pure organic aloe vera gel or serum to hydrate your skin. You will be amazed by the results of your beautiful glowing skin.

Infrared Lamps for Skin Healing

An Infrared heat lamp therapy is an effective alternative to infrared saunas, which you can use to heal skin and detoxify the body. They are very low in cost but very beneficial for medical use. I only want to list the benefits for the skin in this blog.

infrared lamp

These lamps are excellent for skin aging, health and skin infections, acne, rashes, and burns, and it accelerates skin healing and detoxification. This therapy is also called Low-Level Laser and photobiomodulation, using the sun’s light spectrum without skin-damaging UV radiation.

This light’s deep penetration will fasten the blood circulation, which brings nutrients to cells and promotes detoxification. I will recommend this lamp also for the liver cleanse by stimulating the liver to work better.

The use of this lamp on inflamed skin areas is recommended two to three times a week. You will see how quickly your skin recovers. Used on your face, it tightens the muscles, preventing the sagging of the skin but also helps organic skincare to work better on the skin. That is an excellent result.

Facial Massage with Gua Sha

Gua Sha stone

The Chinese people use Gua Sha for cleansing the body and the face by using a half-moon or heart-shaped flat stone, jade, or rose quartz stone. Scraping the stone over the skin in upward movements relaxes muscles and activates tissue drainage. By doing so daily or several times a week, your facial skin becomes glowy and tightened.

This treatment gives you an instant facelift and improves wrinkled, sagging skin, including dark circles, acne, Rosacea, and pigmentation, activating blood and lymph circulation.  I will recommend this massage very much. The stones give a cooling effect.

Final Thought

The list can even be longer, with so many possibilities to improve your skin. Combined with a healthier lifestyle, you will, for sure, have younger-looking, healthier skin. It is worth finding out which treatment is for you the best. Gua Sha has excellent results when used together with facial yoga, another perfect method for tightening your facial muscles and preventing sagging of the face’s contours. Maybe you would like to try it out to create beautiful glowing skin.

Please let me know what your experiences are and what you think about the topic!

  1. Hey Sylvia, I really should buy apple cider vinegar, because I see it mentioning so many times, that I am starting to really get curious.

As a teenager I had often acne. The only thing said to me back then was that I shouldn’t eat chocolate. And that it was best to use Clearasil. I have no idea if that brand still exists. 🙂

But if I knew then what I know now, I would have altered my whole eating style. Even when it would be hard, since I was still living with my parents.

I have never heard of bentonite before. It sounds as something I would have used when I still was a ceramicist, but I didn’t. I got curious and looked it up in the store I used back then and yes, they sell it. 🙂

    Very interesting article. Thanks!

    1. Oh, yes, Hannie! I know Clearasil! Haha, I completely forgot about that. That was such a harsh brand for the skin. Our lifestyle is important. When we eat and drink a lot of green vegetables and eat healthy proteins and fats, we will have no skin problems. But we didn’t know that as a teenager.
Bentonite is a very healthy natural clay, which disinfects the body from the inside and outside. Bentonite has lots of minerals, which are healthy for us. You might know Luvos, another one you can take in inside or apply outside on your skin.

  2. Hi Sylvia
Thanks for this article. I take ACV regularly but never thought of using it as a cleanser which makes sense. I am all things natural by all means. This is so worthy promoting especially to young people who are getting their tender skin damaged by using chemically loaded skin products by some companies that don’t care. My daughter is a makeup artist and I am always encouraging her to use natural products as the effect is the same or even better. I am definitely bookmarking your blog for future.
    Angee

    1. Thank you very much, Angee! It is good that you encourage your daughter because most cosmetic products are very toxic, and using organic made ingredients is the best we can do. My niece is also a makeup artist, but I can’t get her to buy organic products and use self-made organic cosmetics. Maybe if she is more grown up.

I like your post. I drink apple cider vinegar daily myself, internally, of course. I never thought it can be used on your skin as a cleanser.

This is great information you have shared. Thanks again for this post. I learnt a lot.

    1. Hi Madyibi, Thank you for your comment! Drinking ACV is already a great benefit for your health, but if you use it on your face, you will be amazed about the effect in long-term use. Try it out! 🙂

  4. Hi Sylvia,

Thanks for sharing with us those natural ingredients for our skin maintenance. I am sure that using natural ingredients will help our skin be healthy and glowing. The facial products from supermarkets are all full of chemicals and preservatives, which are the root cause why people’s skin is damaged and need more medical treatment.

I like the organic facial mask recipes you shared, and they seem effortless to make at home. I will try them very soon.

    1. Thank you very much for your comment, Matt! They are effortless! You should try it out! 🙂
